W-House is located near Victoria Station and stands on the site of Tart Hall. The Victorian building homed different dwellings and a pub until the mid-1970s when the property was transformed into offices.
The brief was transforming this convoluted and fragmented building into a bright and open Home, where the rear courtyard was reincorporated into the household. This 300 sqm property is spread along five levels, including a lower ground level and a roof terrace.
The ground floor level was the biggest challenge of the project, as the rear room window had been partially blocked to incorporate an extra room in the level below.
W-House se encuentra cerca de Victoria Station donde se asentaba Tart Hall. Este edificio victoriano albergó varios apartamentos y un pub hasta mediados de los 70, cuando la propiedad se transformó en oficinas.
El objetivo de este proyecto era hacer de este edificio y fragmentado una casa luminosa y abierta, en la que el patio trasero se reincorpora como parte fundamental de la vivienda.
Esta propiedad de 300 metros cuadrados se distribuye en cinco niveles, incluyendo un semisótano y una terraza en la azotea.
La planta baja fue el mayor desafío del proyecto, ya que se había perdido su carácter original, al bloquear la ventana de la habitación trasera para incorporar un aseo en la planta inferior.
